Have you Unwrapped His Gift?

Screen Shot 2013-12-26 at 10.08.53 PM

Christmas month is almost over for another year. And again I find myself trying to reach out to help people who can’t, by themselves, “unwrap” Christmas. It is, you know, “wrapped” for many.

……..Wrapped in bandages of bygone hurts and disappointments

……..Wrapped in plastic of sophistication which shuns childlike wonder

……..Wrapped in the tinsel of a materialistic binge

……..Wrapped in the confetti and streamers of empty partying

……..Wrapped in the busy-getting-ready preparations

……..Wrapped in the artistically designed whiskey box of bombed-out, so-called celebrations.

The wrappings represent the cluttered residue of a man or woman’s private history. They are the wadded packaging of Christmases ruined in other times, at other places. Sadly the impact carries on, souring year after year.

I’m speaking of people who:

* Had a heartbreak one yuletide and now always associate the season with that tearful memory.

* Have been burned out over family stresses surrounding the holidays, so that now these days are dreaded instead of anticipated with joy.

* Became wearied with the carnality of superficial gift giving when love seldom attended the presents, and wince at the idea of Christmas shopping.

How many cases? How many varieties of death wrap a God appointed celebration of life?

I come to you today, my disappointed friend in Jesus’ name and I come with this word, “Be free!”

Confront and reject those ghouls of past pain. Refuse to let the prince of darkness smother the season of light. The one who sought to murder the babe of Bethlehem now seeks to ruin your celebration of His coming.

Jack Hayford’s book “Come…and behold Him!”

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

CHALLENGE: Unwrap the gift of God’s love and be free as you step into a brand New Year.

Stay Focused

images-29

Dear Father,

Help me to get “life” into perspective that everyday living may not consume my time leaving nothing for my unique purpose.

Dear Child,

Do not loose focus!

Focus brings life into perspective.

Focus directs your steps.

Focus sets your boundaries and protects your treasure.

Without focus your time, resources and abilities just drift through an

hourglass like grains of sand, without

accomplishing eternal purpose.

Don’t pour out your life without focus and purpose.

Day by day stay focused and add daily to fulfilling your purpose!

To receive a calling takes a moment.

To fulfill a calling takes a lifetime.

                      Thus saith Papa

1 Cor 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Neh 6:3  And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?

Nehemiah was enticed, misunderstood, questioned, lied about, offered a safer way, and even the religious leaders tried to fill him with fear, and yet he stayed focused and never once deviated from “his great work” of building for God!

Challenge: Oh Lord, may I have the same spirit of steadfastness of purpose that marked the life of  Nehemiah.

Personally I know this to be true. As a young woman I knew I was called to teach God’s Word. But it wasn’t until now in my later years I culminated this calling into a book. It has taken a lifetime of mountain top and valley walks with the Lord to have an authentic voice to pen the message of the book. “Developing a Secret History with God”.

He has a reason for this season of your life!

Dear Father,

While admiring the beauty of the work of your hands, as I see the hills and mountains ablaze with vibrant shades of yellow, orange and red, and marvel at the fruitful harvest from your faithful provision, I am amazed, for surely all this declares your majesty and awesomeness!

As I reflect, I have to question who am I that you would be concerned with me? I will never fathom Your love and mercy and yet I believe it with all my heart.

Oh, Papa, may my life declare your majesty and faithfulness as much as the creation of nature echoes your awesomeness!

Dear Child,

Creation just naturally fulfills the purpose it was created for. It doesn’t strive to do anything else! It never doubts My sovereignty but without effort awaits each season, knowing each season has a unique purpose.

But I cannot commune with nature, I cannot fellowship with nature. Only man was created in My image, to fellowship and commune with Me!

All of this beauty was created for man! And man was created to relate to Me!

As you commune and fellowship with Me, your life is declaring My majesty and mercy, for by faith in My mercy, you are trusting My sovereignty and majesty! You are a vessel to display that majesty and mercy, but you must allow Me to fill the vessel daily or you will run dry.

                                                             Thus saith Papa

Psalm 8:3 -4 / Isaiah 64:8 / Jeremiah / 18:2-4

Just as creation brings glory to His name by simply fulfilling its purpose, even so, as we fellowship with and wait on the Lord, we are fulfilling that for which He created us. He created us to fellowship with Him!

CHALLENGE: Are you making that journey each day to the Potter’s house, are you yielding as He molds you season to season, that your life might display, not only the signature of the Creator, but also His majesty and faithfulness.

Remember He has a reason for this season of your life!

Why do we struggle ?

I think we would all agree that this one area, of faithfully spending time alone with God, is the area we struggle with as believers more than any other aspect of our Christian walk. In all other aspects of our walk we have others who can hold us accountable, but this is one area where we have to hold ourselves accountable. This is the part of our spiritual history that is hidden from the view of others, known only to the Lord and ourselves. The enemy is always at hand to offer justifiable excuses to muffle our conscience, be- cause he knows the spiritual power in the life of a believer who spends time in the Father’s presence. We are engaged in spiritual warfare as we endeavor to set aside this precious time to press on in. Having been there many times myself I cried out in desperation: “Teach me, Lord, to draw near that I may truly worship you! Why do I struggle with drawing near to be alone with You, when I know it is a privilege, and that privilege had an awesome price?”

The Fruit of our lives

Dear Child,

Without the fruit of the spirit, there is no manifestation of My presence within. The fruit is the outward evidence of the root structure.

A light is not hid, otherwise how can it shows others the way! Your light shines only as your life manifests the fruit of My spirit. This light reproves darkness, just by shining!

Invest in the root structure and the fruit will be naturally born, not by sweat or toil, but just by abiding and spending time alone with Me.

                                                       Thus saith Papa

Gal 5:22 -23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Joy is Love’s strength

Peace is Love’s security

Patience is Love’s endurance

Kindness is Love’s conduct

Goodness is Love’s character

Faithfulness is Love’s confidence

Gentleness is Love’s humility

Self-control is Love’s victory

Challenge: Does your walk manifest His abiding presence in your life?
