The Miracle of the Incarnation – God in the Flesh

“He was created of a mother whom He created. He was carried by hands that He formed. He cried in the manger in wordless infancy. He, the Word, without whom all human eloquence is mute.” ~Augustine

The Son of God became a man to enable men to become the sons of God  C. S. Lewis

John1 :12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The Reason for the Season!

“Christmas can be celebrated in the school room with pine trees, tinsel and reindeers, but there must be no mention of the man whose birthday is being celebrated. One wonders how a teacher would answer if a student asked why it was called Christmas.?”

Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Are you Wearing a “bah humbug” Attitude?

“As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations, compounded by December’s bad weather, it is good to be reminded that there are people in our lives who are worth this aggravation, and people to whom we are worth the same”.-Donald E. Westlake

We thought of the above quote as we enjoyed the busyness, excitement and sights of the season with the strain of Christmas carols resonating in the air at Short Hills Mall in New Jersey.

Do not allow a Scrooge “bah humbug” attitude to rob you of the childlike pleasure of the season because you don’t like all the commercialism.

What if the carols are not being aired throughout the shopping malls for the right reason? I just rejoice that the message of the gospel is being proclaimed. What better time of the year to wear the joy of your salvation for all to see. Have patience as you stand in long lines, show kindness to the weary shop assistants with a word of appreciation and wish everyone you see “A Merry Christmas”!
