Are You Drying Up And Thirsty?

I always try to be aware of windows to my soul in my everyday life. Every time I have driven up to my favorite Chick-Fil-a I have noticed lately the scarcity of petunias blooms on one side of the parking lot while on the other side there is a huge colorful abundance of petunias! What a contrast between the very same petunias that were planted in the spring. Whatever caused that vast difference I would often ponder? Perhaps a lack of water? They were both planted at the same time in the same soil with the same amount of sunshine.

Wow! What a picture of a dry thirsty soul trying to survive spiritually without the watering of the Word. Have you ever felt that you had been planted in the True Vine but when the heat of trials dried up your roots you just wilted with your life bearing sparse beauty for the Kingdom? I know I’ve been there. I write about that experience and my victory in my book “DEVELOPING A SECRET HISTORY WITH GOD”.

That sparse photo is a picture of my spiritual life a few years ago when deep emotional wounds and serious illnesses almost took me out BUT after publishing my story of victory over those battles, God has taken me in the last few years to London, France, Italy, Russia and India to bloom abundantly again for His Kingdom.

May my story encourage your life to bloom abundantly in the garden of your destiny!

John 7:37 If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

John 6:63 The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

A Window To My Soul

As I daily glance out my kitchen window overlooking my garden I admire the beauty of His Creation. But then as I open my spiritual eyes it is also a school room of spiritual lessons.

1. Seed sowing teaches me that I reap what I sow.

2. Pruning produces more blooming.

3. Root structure is the most important part of the plant.

4. Plants and trees with deep roots will survive times of drought.

5. The importance of daily watering.

6. A fertilized plant will be able to fight disease.

7. Check regularly for signs of parasites.

8. Never transplant in the heat of the day.

Read much more about these parables from my garden in

“DEVELOPING A SECRET HISTORY WITH GOD”

Luke 8:4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:

He still speaks to us by parables.

CHALLENGE: Open your spiritual eyes for windows to your soul in everyday life.

A Parable From My Garden

Even on one of the hottest days of summer I’m busy with my hands in the dirt trimming and cutting back the roots of my plants that are withering to help them survive the heat. What a window to my soul!

For it is often in that scorching heat of trials that the Great Husbandman digs us up to examine our root structure and trims us back that we might survive the heat. It is usually in the fiery furnace that our lives will bear the most abundant fruit.

John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away:and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
