Thanksgiving

IMG_0066

I want to extend my thanks to all my friends and followers on facebook and my website for your support and encouragement. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!

Walk with the King and be a blessing!

Philippians 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.

Swallowing the Word

If we only admire the food on our Thanksgiving Table it will never bring strength or life to the cells in our body unless we eat it and swallow it.

Likewise we do not study the Word to only feed our minds, but we must swallow it that the Seed of the Word might germinate in our inner beings becoming alive as we live it.

As the word exhorts us in Ezekiel 2:8-10:

“But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee. And when I looked, behold, a hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein.”

According to Matthew Henry’s Commentary “to eat” in the verse above means “admit this revelation into thy understanding, take it, take the meaning of it, understand it aright, admit it into thy heart, apply and be affected with it.”

Fresh Appreciation

Giving thanks causes you to be reminded of what you are thankful for and this gives you a fresh appreciation of all the blessings in your life. This appreciation stokes the flame of joy unspeakable to burn afresh in your heart.

As the old hymn says:

Count your many blessings

Name them one by one

And it will surprise you what the Lord has done!

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things. Psalm 103:2

Contentment

Truly one of the keys of true contentment is a sense of inward sufficiency, which only comes from our relationship to our Heavenly Papa. With appreciation and thankfulness for His provision let us be content. Let us be satisfied with ENOUGH!

  •  Lucifer was the highest of the angels in heaven yet not content!
  •  Adam was in paradise yet not content!
  •  Angels were in heaven yet not content!
  •  Haman had a great court position yet not content!
  •  Ahab was on a throne yet not content!

“It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that make us happy”

The Path to Maturity

There is no painless path to maturity, the flesh must be crucified by daily taking up the cross. We will never learn obedience without daily taking up our cross. We will never mature without obedience. We will never be conformed to His image without maturity. Page 188 “Developing A Secret History with God”

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
