JERUSALEM THE HOLY CITY

This day 12/6/2017 will go down in history when the USA declares Jerusalem the Capital of Israel

The Wailing Wall in Jerusalem displaying the unity of the USA and Israel

Having stood and prayed at this very same Wall this time last year I was so blessed to hear President Trump declare Jerusalem the Capital of Israel!

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:

Jeremiah 3:17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.

“One Solitary Life”

“ONE SOLITARY LIFE” by James Allan Francis is my favorite Christmas devotion and I pray it will also bless you.

He was born in an obscure village,
The child of a peasant woman.
He grew up in still another village,
Where he worked in a carpenter shop
Until he was thirty.

Then for three years
He was an itinerant preacher.
He never wrote a book.
He never held an office.
He never had a family or owned a house.
He didn’t go to college.
He never visited a big city.
He never traveled two hundred miles
From the place where he was born.
He did none of the things
One usually associates with greatness.
He had no credentials but himself.

He was only thirty-three
When the tide of public opinion turned against him.
His friends ran away.
He was turned over to his enemies.
And went through the mockery of a trial.

He was nailed to a cross
Between two thieves.
While he was dying,
His executioners gambled for his clothing,
The only property he had on Earth.
When he was dead,
He was laid in a borrowed grave
Through the pity of a friend.

Twenty centuries have come and gone,
And today he is the central figure
Of the human race,
And the leader of mankind’s progress.

All the armies that ever marched,
All the navies that ever sailed,
All the parliament that ever sat,
All the kings that ever reigned,
Put together have not affected
The life of man on Earth
As much as that ONE SOLITARY LIFE

Gifts of the Heart that Can’t be Wrapped

To your enemy . . .forgiveness,

To your opponent . . .tolerance.

To a friend . . . your heart.

To a customer . . . service.

To all men . . .charity.

To every child . . . a good example

To yourself . . .respect

1 Peter 4:10 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves:for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Light up the Meaning of Christmas

As believers we become disturbed when we see society commercialize this wonderful season. It is being secularized by stores selling “holiday” trees instead of “Christmas” trees and even store clerks having to say “Happy holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”.

We get frustrated and upset when local townships decide not to celebrate and honor the birth of Christ with a Nativity scene in the township squares and public places and yet many churches neglect to use this opportunity to display a Nativity scene outside or even inside their churches. What is wrong with this picture? What do you think?

Yes, of course, I decorate my tree and house with lights but I try to put the emphasis on the Christ of Christmas with a large Nativity display in the front of our home. Praying that this witnessing tool will remind our neighborhood that there is more to Christmas than Santa Claus and reindeers.

The Miracle of the Incarnation – God in the Flesh

“He was created of a mother whom He created. He was carried by hands that He formed. He cried in the manger in wordless infancy. He, the Word, without whom all human eloquence is mute.”~Augustine

Unknown-3

John 1:1;13 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.
