What has the Power of Death or Life?

When Do We Need the Gift of Hope?

We do not need the light of hope when we are in a season of mountain top sunshine but we find that light and ray of hope when we are in a dark, rainy season of the valley.

Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope:but hope that is seen is not hope:for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Are you Spiritually Dehydrated and Parched?

Dear Father,

Work in my heart and life today, sprinkle my living sacrifice with salt this day, that my life may be seasoned with grace in my relationship to others. Conform me this day that the love from my heart may be authentic and pleasing in Your sight.

Dear Child,

Present your body a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable in My sight. As every offering must be sprinkled with salt, even so your sacrifice of self must also be sprinkled with salt, which will heal and purify your life that it may be acceptable in My sight. The salt will cause a thirst for more of Me, which can only be quenched, not by only reading the Word, but by obeying it. As you obey the Word, you are drinking it and it is refreshing your thirsty soul. As you drink of this water, I am increasing in your life and the old you is decreasing. Let Me arise in power in your life and the enemies of your soul will be scattered.

I salt to cause a thirst, but I also provide living water to quench that thirst. As you drink you are yielding, and as you yield, your living sacrifice is acceptable in My sight.

                                                Thus saith Papa

Leviticus 2:13  And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

Mark 9:49  For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

That salt will cause such a desire and thirst for more of God, it will ignite a fire that will consume all that is not of Him. All that will be left will be His life in us. Only then will our living sacrifice be acceptable and pleasing in His sight as an act of worship for it will be a sweet savor unto Him. Salt will always cause a wound or an offence to smart and hurt, but remember it will also cleanse it, thereby preserving our life. These “saltings” are often the trials that purify our faith as pure gold!

1 Peter 4:19  Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

CHALLENGE: If a dry spell has left you parched due to the heat of a fiery trial do not be discouraged for surely the “salting” has an eternal purpose.

It’s Time to Declare Our Love

images-6

At this time of the year lovers are selecting gifts to please their sweethearts and children are busy cutting out paper hearts to send to their friends.

In the midst of all the activity do not let us neglect to declare our love for the Lord by offering Him a spiritual Valentine. Beyond all our gifts or service there is one Valentine that would please Him more than anything else we might offer and that is our hearts. No, not paper ones but the real thing. For when we offer Him our hearts we give Him our all. Thats what Isaac Watts meant when he wrote this line to his hymn “When I survey the Wondrous Cross”.

“Were the whole realm of nature mine

That were a present far too small

Love so amazing, so divine

Demands my soul, my life, my all.”

1 John 4:10 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be a propitiation for our sins.”

How could we help but love Him? Yet there are many who do not return His love. This brought anguish to Francis of Assisi, when he thought of Calvary and realized so many refuse the Savior’s love. He was moved to travel the streets exclaiming “Love is not loved ! Love is not loved !” This is also the tragedy of 2013, for Love is still being despised and rejected by many. But millions do love and cherish Him. Our hearts are His. At a time when the world is searching for love in all the wrong places, let us declare His Love to the world by loving one another as He first loved us.

Challenge: 1 John 4:11 “Beloved if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

HAPPY ST. VALENTINE’S DAY
