Our Passover Lamb

During Holy Week I invite you to watch my teaching video on “OUR PASSOVER LAMB” It will inspire you and give you some fresh manna to feed on as you see prophecies that were written hundreds of years apart, by authors of all ages and backgrounds, as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit, unfold before your spiritual eyes.

It will leave us with no other conclusion except as the centurion at the foot of the cross declared “Truly this man was the Son of God” Mark 16:39

A Devotion for Palm Sunday

palm-sunday

As we celebrate this coming Palm Sunday, as Jewish congregations prepare to celebrate Passover, may the Old Testament types add to the dimension of our faith and understanding of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

Consider for a moment that on that same day thousands of lambs were being ushered into Jerusalem through the same Eastern gate, also known as the Golden Gate, as Our Passover Lamb. But I wonder how many who were enthusiastically waving palms, saw with spiritual eyes the Lamb of God, who would take away the sin of the world, among all the other lambs.

The lambs were being brought into Jerusalem five days prior to Passover, to be examined by the priests. They were to be examined for blemishes or disfigurement, as only perfect lambs were found worthy to be sacrificed for the sins of the people. It is interesting to note that the priest did not examine the sinner who brought the sacrifice, rather the priest looked to see if the sacrificial substitute was worthy.

Likewise Our Lamb was brought into the city five days prior to Passover, to also be examined. He was brought before Pontius Pilate, Herod, Annas and Ciaphas, the high priests, and the ultimate judgement was made by Pilate when he declared, “I find no fault in Him.” Praise God for our Lamb who was found worthy to be sacrificed for our sins.

As we worship this coming Sunday let us with a loud voice declare with the heavens

“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain!” Rev. 5:12

Put On Your Easter Bonnet!

As I prepare my heart to meditate on the ultimate sacrifice that took place on Calvary I also prepare my Easter bonnet to celebrate the glorious resurrection! I believe as Christians, we should outwardly display the joy in our hearts with all the beautiful colors God created especially on Resurrection Day more than anyone else in the world.

This is the hat I created and wore Easter Sunday at church many years ago before going to New York to be part of the Easter Parade on Fifth Avenue.

This hat was used as a witnessing tool to give us an awesome opportunity “to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you.” 1Peter 3:15

We had our own Ticker Tape parade on Fifth Avenue as we strewed the street with thousands of pamphlets declaring “He is Risen!”

Come on ladies get your Easter Bonnet ready!

In the book of Genesis we read of Abraham being willing to sacrifice Isaac, his son of promise on the altar, if God required it of him. There follows I believe one of the clearest words of prophecy in all of Scripture looking forward to Calvary.

Genesis 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide HIMSELF a lamb for a burnt offering.

Not only was God going to provide a lamb, He was going to provide HIMSELF as that Lamb.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself.

Yes, there was a lamb that day provided to take the place of Isaac BUT what is more important to you and me today is there was a Lamb that was provided to take our place.

Hebrews 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Genesis 22:11 Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place JEHOVAH JIREH

For further study during your Easter devotion time I Invite you to watch my short video on the fulfillment of the many prophetic types of Our Passover Lamb.

Buds of Hope

After the death of winter, buds of hope spring to life in the garden of our hearts ready to burst into a fragrant blossom of celebration at the resurrection of our Lord as His cold lifeless body lying in the sepulcher springs to life by the power of God.

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. Romans 8:8-9
