What If ….?

Worry does not empty tomorrow of sorrows,

It empties today of it strength – Corrie Ten Boom

Philippians 4:6 In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

BOOK REVIEW FROM REV. PATTI MARIANO OF PARKWAY ASSEMBLY, NORWALK  CT.

Do you have a desire to build a closer relationship with God but it’s just not happening?

Do you try to seek His Face in that quiet “secret place” but the cares of this world keep interrupting?

Perhaps there is a small part of your heart where weeds have disrupted the roots. It happens to all of us, and until we discover just what is keeping us from our Father, we face frustrations.

Maggie Bass has found a direct road to the throne room and she shares this in her book “DEVELOPING A SECRET HISTORY WITH GOD”.

It is a rich and inspiring journey to an intimate relationship with the Savior. A “great read” to get you started on deepening and strengthening your own roots. Remembering the Sacrifice of So Many

IMG_4960

While in San Diego we visited the historic Midway, aircraft carrier from World War 2. It reminded us of the sacrifice of the British, American and allied troops who gave their lives that we might be free.

In the park there is also the huge iconic statue of the “kiss” made famous from the Times Square celebration of the end of the war.

We couldn’t resist mimicking the “kiss”.

Pathway to Maturity

images-5
Dear Child,

To lose life in the flesh, is to find life in the spirit.

The cross is self-denial, and doing that which I have ordained for you.

The cross is the key to obedience.

Obedience is the key to maturity

Maturity is the key to conformity to the image of My Son.

Take up the cross for the cross is the way to death of the flesh.

Don’t try to save that which satisfies the flesh for if it is starved it will die.

If it dies you will find spiritual resurrection and power

Thus saith Papa

Mat 10:38-39 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Heb 5:8 -9 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

There is no easy, painless path to maturity, the flesh must be crucified by daily taking up the cross.

We will never learn obedience without daily taking up our cross.

We will never mature without obedience.

We will never be conformed to His image without maturity.

Challenge: Which area of your old fleshly nature needs to be crucified by taking up the cross of self-denial in that area? Then you can state with conviction, “ Not my will but thine be done!”

Laboring Together In His Vineyard

Screen Shot 2016-01-23 at 11.19.59 PM

After sharing at the Assemblies of God International Fellowship on Thursday morning I spend some time chatting with Shlomo Hizak Founder and President of AMI, the Israel Society of the Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies and Research. We look forward to accepting his invitation to visit the Center later this year.

1 Corinthians 3:7-9 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one:and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
For we are labourers together with God.
