20/20 Spiritual Vision

Although my eye surgeon restored my vision to 20/20 three years ago after several procedures I have developed some blurriness recently causing me not to see as clearly as I had. I had an appointment today with the surgeon to diagnose what is going on. This may be only a physical problem but sometimes I need to have a spiritual insight check up with the Great Physician. I may no longer be spiritually blind but I may spiritually develop blurriness or become spiritually dry in the same way we can have physical dry eyes. We can apply eye drops to lubricate our physical dry eyes as prescribed by our eye doctor and I believe the Great Physician would prescribe no less than to apply the water of the Word to lubricate the dryness of our spiritual eyes that we may see Him more clearly and see ourselves, without the fogginess of leaf coverings, totally naked in the sparkling clearcut mirror of the Word.

Did You Open the Door Today?

doorknocking

Revelation 3:20, 22 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Although this verse is often used as an invitation to the world who don’t know Christ, we must take a closer look, for saints, this was an invitation to the church, to those who had already responded to His love. This was written to the church of Laodicea who had grown lukewarm and had become self sufficient and no longer took the time to fellowship with Him.

So I ask again “ Did you open the door today?”

Walking with a spiritual limp?

If you are, you can rejoice, for you have found favor with God.

It has been said “Don’t trust a person who walks without a spiritual limp” for they have not had a defeat in the flesh as they wrestled with the Spirit of God.

To gain a victory in the spirit we must have a defeat in the flesh. In the physical realm we may think we have lost, but in the reality of the spirit realm we have won a great victory by surrendering to the spirit.

In Genesis 32 We read of Jacob’s wrestle with God. Jacob surrenders after God touches the hallow of his thigh. Now this may have looked like a defeat in the physical realm but God declares in Genesis 32:28 “thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed “.

So in losing in the flesh, Jacob actually won in the spiritual realm.

Genesis 32: 24-28 And a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day. When the Man saw that He did not prevail against Jacob, He touched his hip socket, and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with Him. Then He said, “Let me go, for the day has broken.” But Jacob said, “I will not let You go unless you bless me.” And He said to him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Jacob.” Then He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

CHALLENGE: In what area of your life do you need to surrender to God in order to gain a spiritual victory?

We Need More Than A Band-Aid!

Without repentance we have only placed a Band-Aid of emotionalism over the wound of our guilty soul, it will bleed again and never heal.
