Thanksgiving for Family Unity!

At this time of the year as we are planning our thanksgiving preparations we often have thoughts of past thanksgivings floating in the air. As I picked up this photo of our first Thanksgiving together in the USA 1973, I was reminiscing of God’s faithfulness to our family through the years.

A photo of a close knit family even to our dress LOL but after all I was a dressmaker! Wow all that sewing! Guess it came from my Scotch-Irish background where the clans would all wear the same tartan to identify family unity.

However you don’t have to dress the same to have family unity. Unity in our families is more than our dress even more than our historical roots. Lasting unity in our families is due to deep spiritual roots when we all have the same Heavenly Father who doesn’t have any grandchildren – only children born of His Spirit whereby we cry out “Abba”.

Be thankful this season not only for your historical roots and parenthood but also for His love, grace and mercy when He adopted us, making our family unity stronger than anything the world or the enemy could use to disintegrate us.

Basking in The Presence of His Peace

Dear Child,

Peace, peace, my peace I give you even in the storms, sense my presence through my peace. Be still and know that I am God. In the stillness of the moment basking in my presence that you might be refreshed and encouraged. Allow my presence, peace and encouragement to sweep over you!

Don’t faint weary pilgrim, allow me to be your God, the glory and lifter of your head. Don’t be afraid of stillness, in that stillness you are in my presence and tasting a little of eternity for you are stopping time for a moment.

                                        Thus saith Papa

Psa. 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

During this time of uncertainty and unrest in our world we must not allow the enemy to rob us of our peace of mind. For he comes to steal and destroy and rob us of our freedom and the Word tells us “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36

Serenity is not necessarily freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation:but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

It is said that the eye of the storm is always the safest place to be. Storms may arise within us and around us but in the center lies a calm. We find that center by pressing into His presence wherein lies that peace that passes understanding.

Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee;and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

CHALLENGE: In these uncertain times we can no longer afford NOT to  invest more time than ever before in stillness before God basking in His presence and peace.

May my book DEVELOPING A SECRET HISTORY WITH GOD encourage and inspire you to press into His presence.  Available also on Ebook and Kindle from Amazon/Barnes/or a bookstore near you

Praying At The Wailing Wall

This time last year I had the privilege of interceding for our nation on this monumental eve of the election, crying for God’s mercy on the future and revival in our land. I also placed several requests on paper to place in the cracks standing in the gap for needs of several friends, including Fran and Barbara who I promised to pray for at the Wall.

Hypocrisy of The Rotten Apple!

‘”The devil can cite the Scripture for his purpose .
An evil soul producing Holy witness
Is like a villain with a smiling cheek
A goodly apple rotten at the heart
O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath.”

William Shakespeare/ The Merchant of Venice

Luke 11:39 And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness

Cut it Off !

After a visit with Dr. Perkins, my podiatrist today, to have my toe nail removed due to incurable toe fungus, I understood even more Jesus’ warning in Mark 9:43-48 to exhort us to cut off anything in our body which offends us. We had tried so many things from tea tree oil, prescribed medication, even laser treatment to no avail. The fungus under my toe nail bed was determined to spread to my other toes, and the only option left was to remove and cut off the nail. How often in our spiritual walk do we try so many options to stop something in our lives that is causing us to stumble without taking heed to Jesus’ diagnosis and prescription “Cut it off!” to save the rest of the body? Fungus are known to be extremely persistent, just like anything in our lives that the enemy can use to destroy our testimony. Be forewarned that temptations and the enemy are also extremely persistent. Go to the root, take the Great Physician’s advice and “Cut it off!” It is better to walk straight without my toe nail than to stagger in pain with the fungus under the toe nail.
