This photo was taken on Route 611 overlooking the Delaware Water Gap in Pennsylvania today, as I stopped my day to admire the beauty of the Artist’s brush strokes as He paints this new season with vivid colors from His palette. As I noticed the many visitors with their cameras and long lines of tourists waiting to board the Water Gap trolley to take a trip through the Gap, it gave me a shot of fresh appreciation of the scenic area where I am blessed to live and so often take for granted. We are so often robbed of joy by not appreciating the simple blessings in our lives. This may be the peak weekend to admire the autumn colors so take a few moments during this weekend to come apart and rest awhile just to reflect on the awesome beauty of His creation.
“We are not made happy by what we acquire but rather by what we appreciate.”quoted from the chapter “Pressing on into His Presence” page 145 of my book “Developing a Secret History with God.”
