Chances are One In One Hundred Trillion !!!

Since prophetic shadows and types of the life, sacrificial death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus were written over the lengthy span of ten centuries, most of the thirty-nine writers did not personally know one another, nor live in the same eras yet they all still wrote a prophetic story that has complete harmony and fulfillment at Mount Calvary. The chance of any one man’s fulfilling all of the 48 Messianic prophecies is one in ten to the 157th power.

By using the modern science of probability in reference to just eight of these prophecies concerning our celebration at Easter the chance that any one man might have lived to fulfill all eight prophecies is one in 100 trillion!

We can’t even comprehend that number! But this is a visual for you to help understand how HUGE that number is. Imagine covering the entire state of Texas two feet deep with silver dollars. On 1 of those silver dollars, you place an ‘X’. Then, you blindfold someone, spin them around for awhile, and let them loose in the state of Texas and tell them to pick 1 coin. The odds that the individual will pick the coin with the ‘X’ is 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000!!! And remember, that’s the probability of Jesus fulfilling only 8 of the prophecies concerning His death and resurrection. Would that have been possible had He not been the Son of God?

CHALLENGE:As the story of Easter unfolds to us through the eyes of fulfilled prophecies surely we must all declare as the Roman centurion declared at the foot of the cross” Truly this was the Son of God” Matthew 27:34

Please share this with your seeking friends that their eyes may be open and others that their faith may be strengthened.

Preparing Our Hearts During Lent

Dear Papa,

Help me to die daily as I present my life and body as a living sacrifice. May I die to self this day and live only unto thee.

Dear Child,

My Son died once and for all, but to identify with His resurrection life, you must die daily, that daily you may walk in resurrection life.

He died once but you must die daily.

Resurrection life can only follow death! No death, no resurrection life!

Only resurrection life has power and anointing.

Only resurrection life can produce fruit for eternity.

Each seed and fruit produces after its own kind.

Only that which is birthed by resurrection life will never die.

Child, it is not about more power, it is about more dying!

And then power will automatically flow from the resurrection life that follows.

                                              Thus saith Papa

Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

2 Corinthians 4:7-12 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.  For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

We must first die to self if the power of the resurrection life is to flow from our lives.

By His sovereignty, God uses circumstances of verses 8 and 9 above, to break us, that resurrection life may flow from us. “He who puts his trust only in spiritual gifts is being foolish, for such gifts do not necessarily work that transformation in the inner man. It is only out of brokenness that there can come forth life.” Watchman Nee

Why was Mary NOT Permitted to Touch Her Risen Lord?

Screen Shot 2014-04-19 at 5.21.38 AM

Have you ever wondered why Mary was not allowed to touch Jesus in the garden, yet that same evening He challenges Thomas to touch His side to prove it is actually Him?

After the resurrection we see a change in Jesus’ ministry from our Sacrificial Lamb to our Great High Priest. The high priest of Israel could not be defiled or touched before entering the Holiest of Holies to apply the atoning blood.

This is why Jesus told Mary not to touch Him when she met the risen Lord in the garden because he said he hadn’t yet ascended to his Father. John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and [to] my God, and your God.

Jesus, now as Our High Priest, was about to take His own blood into the Holiest of Holies in heaven.  Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us].

In Israel a holy hush would fall over the crowd assembled in the Outer Court (type of the world) as their high priest entered the Holy of Holies (type of heaven) to apply the blood. Awaiting in anticipation of his return, there would be an explosion of rejoicing, as they see their high priest come back to the Outer Court (type of the world) because his appearance meant that God had accepted the blood of the sacrifice, and their sins were covered for another year. In fact tradition informs us that the high priest would have a rope tied around his waist in case he would be struck dead because the sacrifice was not accepted and and have to be pulled out from the Holy of Holies See Hebrews 8:1-6

We can also ecstatically rejoice because Our High Priest returned after applying His blood. In fact that same evening of the resurrection He appears to His disciples, and as I’ve said even challenges Thomas to touch Him, because He  had already been to the heavenly Holy Place and now had returned to the Outer Court to be seen of many for 40 days. We have the confidence that His precious blood was accepted for remission of our sins, which are taken away forever.

The passover lambs of the Old Testament could only cover sins from one year to the next, but Our Passover Lamb wiped out our sins forever.

Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, [which are] the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:  Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;  For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

CHALLENGE: Avail yourself of this great privilege you now have of reaching out and touching Him everyday.

A Devotion for Palm Sunday

palm-sunday

As we celebrate this coming Palm Sunday, as Jewish congregations prepare to celebrate Passover, may the Old Testament types add to the dimension of our faith and understanding of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

Consider for a moment that on that same day thousands of lambs were being ushered into Jerusalem through the same Eastern gate, also known as the Golden Gate, as Our Passover Lamb. But I wonder how many who were enthusiastically waving palms, saw with spiritual eyes the Lamb of God, who would take away the sin of the world, among all the other lambs.

The lambs were being brought into Jerusalem five days prior to Passover, to be examined by the priests. They were to be examined for blemishes or disfigurement, as only perfect lambs were found worthy to be sacrificed for the sins of the people. It is interesting to note that the priest did not examine the sinner who brought the sacrifice, rather the priest looked to see if the sacrificial substitute was worthy.

Likewise Our Lamb was brought into the city five days prior to Passover, to also be examined. He was brought before Pontius Pilate, Herod, Annas and Ciaphas, the high priests, and the ultimate judgement was made by Pilate when he declared, “I find no fault in Him.” Praise God for our Lamb who was found worthy to be sacrificed for our sins.

As we worship this coming Sunday let us with a loud voice declare with the heavens

“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain!” Rev. 5:12
