Be Encouraged Today!

After many years of emotional breakdown, several serious health issues and dryness in my soul, the Lord reminded me this morning to trust Him for an end like Job’s, who was blessed abundantly after his time of testing.

The Lord fed my faith this morning with 1 Peter 5:10 and I believe it is also for someone out there today.

“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”

A Family Devotional Time!

thumb_IMG_5494_1024

I always begin my devotional time with words of gratitude. Surrounded by not only His love this morning but also the love of my puppies, I entered His presence with thanksgiving for the love and companionship of my two furry children, my wee Westie Iona and my Scottie Mr. Knightly.

Light Always Extinguishes Darkness

“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” ~ C.S. Lewis

Just as darkness has to flee at the rising of the sun even so darkness has to flee when the light of the gospel rises in our hearts.

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ

John 1:4-5 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

We travelled up to Cold Spring, New York to accept an invitation to minister at the Walter Hoving Home Rehab for women on Sunday evening. In the morning we attended the morning service at Church on the Hill where the director of the home, Beth Greco’s husband pastors. After the worship Tim Greco ask me to greet the congregation and to my surprise asked if I possibly had something to share with the church instead of his sermon. Talk about being instant in season and out of season! Beth said if he had put her on a spot like that she would have had his life! LOL !

I certainly learned a lesson in obedience as I stepped up to the platform without notes, preparation or even my Bible and only the leading of the Holy Spirit. Would you believe I shared a word that the pastor had previously prepared to share? So awesome to witness the Holy Spirit move in this way!

CHALLENGE:-Don’t only memorize but also practice the following scriptures for you never know when the Lord will call upon you!

2 Timothy 4:2-5 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Peter 2:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts:and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear

Will God Continue to Bless or Judge America?

“God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever.” – Thomas Jefferson, inscription on the Jefferson Memorial

Thomas Jefferson, a spokesman for democracy, was an American Founding Father, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence (1776), and the third President of the United States (1801–1809).
