Unraveling the Stress of the Christmas Season

images

As we head into heat of the Christmas season with the frustrating lines in the stores, the tangled lights that don’t work after hours of decorating, the strained relationships especially within families, the baking that was a flop, the stress to fit all the activities into your calendar are only examples of  the pressure cooker we make of the season as we blow our tops and lose the joy of the season, I am cautioned by this word my heavenly Papa dropped into my heart.

Dear Child,

The pressure and stress that robs you of the joy of this season has been manufactured by man and led man into slavery when this season was to set man free from the bondage of this world. The angels cry “Joy to the world” not “Stress to the world”.

Do not try to package my gift in wrapping paper of stress tied up with a bow of pressure!

My gift came wrapped in joy and tied with love.

May the joy of the season overflow from your hearts as you extend your arms as ribbons of love to others.

Thus saith Papa

Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

CHALLENGE: Do not let the world pour you into its mold of stress during this season of joy.

The Blessings Of A Thankful Heart

Screen Shot 2015-11-24 at 4.13.29 PM

Why does God continually remind us to be thankful?

A thankful heart is full of praise, which ushers us into His presence.

A thankful heart blesses the Father’s heart.

A thankful heart is a soft, pliable heart that God can mold to
His image.

A thankful heart is a joyous heart that strengthens us spiritually.

A thankful heart remembers His faithfulness in the past

thereby feeding our faith to trust Him for our future.

A thankful heart will be a good steward of blessings.

Dear Child,
If you appreciated all My blessings in your life, your heart would overflow with joy! Giving thanks causes you to be reminded of what you are thankful for and this gives you a fresh appreciation. If you are thankful for My blessings, you will enjoy them, if you take them for granted they will not give you joy, for they will be put on the shelf for another day like a discarded gift. Enjoy life, it’s My greatest gift, when you enjoy life you have a thankful heart, and a thankful heart is pleasing in My sight.
Thus saith Papa.

CHALLENGE: Have the moths of discontentment, complaining and lack of appreciation eaten away holes in your garment of praise, leaving it thread bare, and robbing your life of joy?

Thanksgiving is a Faith Builder

thanksgiving-mike-waters

Dear Child,

Entering My presence with thanksgiving will build the faith you need to present your requests before Me, and without that faith it is impossible to please Me.

Without thanksgiving you will not have that ever increasing faith to believe that I am a rewarder of those who diligently seek Me.

Because thanksgiving brings to remembrance My faithfulness in the past and feeds your faith.

But ingratitude produces a complaining heart drowned in self-pity which will quench your faith.

An unthankful heart will be excluded from My presence.

In My presence is joy unspeakable and full of glory, a place you can only enter through the gate of thanksgiving! Child, be thankful!

                                            Thus saith Papa

                                              My Jehovah Jireh

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

1 Thessalonians 5:18-19 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit.

Counting our blessings and remembering His goodness and faithfulness in the past feeds and nourishes our faith BUT being ungrateful and complaining will quench our faith and gratify the weeds that the enemy has sown.

An attitude of praise is the result of a thankful heart.

Praise and thanksgiving are like Siamese twins i.e. they are inseparable.

Without thanksgiving we haven’t even entered the gate. Yet so often we try to offer praise in His court, and yet still find ourselves coldly on the outside. The only way into the warmth His presence is through the Gate of Thanksgiving.

So often we come to church with a heavy heart because of circumstances. But if only we would spend a few moments reflecting as we declare  “I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.” Psalm 77:11 it would give us an appreciative and thankful heart and our attitude would change, preparing us to enter the gate and into His courts with praise. As the Word tells us “the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness”Isaiah.61:3.

Please note that I did not say our circumstances would necessarily change, I said our attitude to the circumstances would change. We will no longer be under the circumstances because our sacrifice of praise will raise us above those circumstances, and we will find ourselves spiritually seated in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Then in His timing we will see victory because He can work with those who praise Him. A grateful heart is a soft, pliable heart in the loving hands of the Master Potter. But hearts become cold and hardened when we murmur and complain.

Yes, it is hard when we are burdened and we just don’t feel like praising God.

But isn’t that what a sacrifice is all about? Something that is costing you! What is the cost? An act of our will to choose to offer Him a sacrifice of praise even when we don’t understand the “whys?” We are actually saying with that praise, “ God, I don’t know the future but I do believe that you hold my future and I trust you with the outcome.” We call that faith and without faith it is impossible to please Him.

CHALLENGEMay we all grow to the stature of the faith of Job who declared “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him:” Job 13:15

How to Have 20/20 Spiritual Vision

20_20_vision

Dear Father,

Help me to get “life” into perspective that everyday living may not consume my time leaving nothing for my unique purpose.

Dear Child,

Do not loose focus!

Focus brings life into perspective.

Focus directs your steps.

Focus sets your boundaries and protects your treasure.

Without focus your time, resources and abilities just drift through an

hourglass like grains of sand, without accomplishing eternal purpose.

Don’t pour out your life without focus and purpose.

Day by day stay focused and add daily to fulfilling your purpose!

To receive a calling takes a moment.

To fulfill a calling takes a lifetime.

                      Thus saith Papa

1 Cor 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,  forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Neh 6:3  And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?

Nehemiah was enticed, misunderstood, questioned, lied about, offered a safer way, and even the religious leaders tried to fill him with fear, and yet he stayed focused and never once deviated from “his great work” of building for God!

Challenge: Oh Lord, may I have the same spirit of steadfastness of purpose that marked the life of  Nehemiah.

Personally I know this to be true. As a young woman I always knew I was called to do a work for God by teaching His Word. But it wasn’t until now in my later years I culminated this calling into a book. It has taken a lifetime of mountain top and valley walks with the Lord to have an authentic voice to pen the message of the book. “Developing a Secret History with God”.IMG_1344

Premature Falling Leaves

IMG_4280

I was sitting under the shade of a large willow tree while I was having  communion with my heavenly Papa. I noticed leaves falling prematurely from the trees due to the lack of rain from a summer drought, and I asked the Lord,

“But, Papa, what are the leaves that often fall from my life grounded in you?”

Dear Child,

If you do not water, nourish and protect consistently your spiritual root structure, the leaves that begin to fall are the leaves of FAITH, followed by dried up leaves of HOPE, and the discolored leaves of OBEDIENCE!

Without leaves, which nourish a plant, there will never be fruition of your destiny. A plant without leaves will never blossom and bear fruit. Feed and water your root structure daily and consistently that healthy leaves of FAITH, HOPE and OBEDIENCE, in due season, will reap the abundant fruit of your destiny.

Do not let the garden of your life of faith be covered by fallen dried up leaves of lost opportunity, lost time and lost potential.

                                                A warning from Papa

Hebrews 11:6 But without FAITH it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Romans 15: 13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in HOPE, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

James 1: 22 But be ye DOERS of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

CHALLENGE: Invest daily in your spiritual root structure by communing with your heavenly Papa that you may have FAITH to trust, confidence to HOPE and discipline to OBEY in all seasons of life.

A flower always naturally leans towards the sun as it grows and blooms in its presence.

Likewise our lives will only grow and bloom as we spend time in His presence

This is called “Photosynthesis” and is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy, normally from the Sun, into chemical energy that can be later released to fuel the organisms’ activities.
