Oh How the Mighty Fall!

IMG_4199

We had in our garden a huge tree that seemed to tower to the sky and was greatly admired. Although it hid us from the glare and heat of the sun, but what a mess it made of our patio and caused us many hours of trying to continually clean up the fallen leaves, endless seeds in the spring and droppings from the many birds who inhabited the tree. The time eventually came this week when we decided enough is enough, we grew weary of the endless work. Each year the tree was left standing the work became more burdensome instead of being a blessing. It was now so close to the house it shrouded our rooms in darkness.

It took four strong men, much heavy equipment, and hours of sweat and labor to cut down that tree and yet the tree was still evident because of the wide spreading deep root structure. You see cutting off the branches and even the trunk didn’t take care of the mess the tree had made of the garden. The mess was not due to the fallen leaves born on the hefty branches but rather was due to the developing of the deep roots over the past 26 years. The life of that tree was in its root structure. A hefty stump grinder had to be brought in and with the sweat and tears of hours of labor to penetrate the depth of the roots and axe them until not one part of the root was left.

Likewise in our lives cutting off the branches of sin and the trunk of rebellion does not clean up the mess the fruit of sin makes in the garden of our lives. It may appear that our lives are beautiful but that tree has been hiding us from the heat of conviction of the Son. We are busy trying to clean up the surrounding areas of the littered leaves of our fallen nature born on the unrighteous branches while hoping for a crop failure when our corrupt sowing produces so many harmful abundant seeds germinating a life of their own in all areas of our lives. When we decide enough is enough and the burden is too great, shrouding each room in our hearts in darkness, we decide to spend countless hours with counsellors, pastors and even friends with many trained techniques but the root still has to be dealt with or it will produce again. The only stump grinder that can obliterate those tangled roots and cause the proud trunk of rebellion to fall is the blood of Jesus applied with humble tears of repentance. Only then can we begin to develop a root structure in the True Vine that will produce leaves of obedience born on branches of faith, bearing the fruit of righteousness and authentic seeds to produce life in others.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

John 15:1 & 5 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

CHALLENGE: Are you tired of those unrighteous branches littering the path of your life with the fallen leaves of sin? It’s time to apply the only stump grinder that can obliterate that root of pride with all those smaller tangled roots of self.

May my book “DEVELOPING A SECRET HISTORY WITH GOD” inspire you as you start a new root structure in the True Vine.

Are the Seeds of Your Life only Empty Husks?

main-qimg-5892f9edc4519c3663c8e6b0d0607d20

Dear Child,

Sow seeds of holiness and a “seeking after Me”, and the harvest will be the same as the seed. Every seed bears fruit after its own kind. Do not fear man! Be bold and sow those seeds of holiness in the church, that they may overcome the seeds of apathy and carnality sown by the enemy.

The seeds you sow must be authentic, and to be authentic they must be seeds from the fruit of your own life.

Authentic seed is holy seed!

Authentic seed is truth!

Authentic seed is the Word of God

Authentic seed is truth that you have walked!

Because you have lived it, this seed has life!

Walk boldly yet humbly before Me

                                           Thus saith Papa.

1 John 3:18-19 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

Amplified Bible 1 Corinthians 4:20 For the Kingdom of God consists of and is based on not talk but moral power and excellence of soul.

If the seeds we try to sow are not authentic, they will blow away like the wind for they are only “empty shells of words” with no life or conviction!

CHALLENGE: Does your walk bring credibility to your words or do others say, “What you are doing is so loud I can’t hear what you are saying”?

Are you Sowing What you Want to Reap?

images-11

Dear Child,

Whatsoever you sow, you will reap! Sow abundantly into others lives and you will reap an abundant harvest. Whatever you sow in others’ lives will reap in your own life.

Whatever you want in your own life, sow into others.

If you want hope, sow hope

If you want integrity, sow integrity

If you want love, sow love

If you want faithfulness, sow faithfulness

If you want motivation, sow motivation

If you want edification, sow edification

If you want encouragement, sow encouragement.

Whatever seeds you sow in the garden of your life is what will grow, and as you care for the seeds, it will reveal where your treasure is. Where you spend your finances, time, and talent is where your heart is at.

                                                            Thus saith Papa

Galatians 6:7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

2 Corinthians 9:6  But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

After I faithfully plant a seed in my garden, there is nothing I can do to cause it to germinate and grow, because the life is in the seed not in the sower. But I must be responsible and sow the seed.  Remember although the life is in the seed, the responsibility is in the sower!

Challenge: Don’t complain of lack in an area of your life, but rather sow that which you want to harvest in that area.

God is Working Sovereignly behind those Clouds

th-17

As I was meditating in my garden on a summer’s day in August covered by a beautiful blue sky spotted with white fluffy clouds, I noticed in a fresh way how slowly but steadily the clouds were moving as opposed to the sun which remained steadfast as its rays broke through the clouds, when Papa dropped this encouraging word in my heart.

Dear Child,

Look at the sky! See how the clouds are always moving away. Remember the sun is always there behind those clouds, ready to break through but the clouds are not always there. Trials only last for a season but I am always there working in My sovereignty behind the trials that all things may work together for good.

Without clouds there is no rain to nourish your garden. Without clouds in your life, the sun cannot break through. Without trials there is no sweet fragrance of victory!

Just as the clouds work for good and become refreshing rain, there is a divine purpose behind every cloud in your life.

                                        Thus saith Papa

1Peter 4:19  Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Andre Crouch penned it so well in his song,

“ Through it all, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God.

For if I never had my problems, I would never know what faith in God could do.

I have learned that my trials only come to make me strong.”

CHALLENGE: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Is He Leaving an Imprint on the Pages of Your Life?

photo

One day I had a problem with my printer, and although it went through the motions, it didn’t print the words, there was only a blank page. God used this as a window to my soul and spoke this parable to my heart.

Dear Child,

Am I only an impression on your life or is there an imprint on your life when you leave My presence?

Is your life only a blank page that has gone through the motions but no lasting imprint?

Live what I impress upon your heart, and it will be read of men.

As you live what I impress upon your heart, your life will be anointed with the indelible ink of the Holy Spirit to make an imprint on the hearts of others.

                                                                      Thus saith Papa

2 Corinthians 3:2-3  Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.

CHALLENGE:- As you walk in authenticity and integrity, your life will leave a godly imprint on all those within your circle of influence.
