Panic Strikes The World

During these prophetic last days as the pagan god of Pan plays his panpipe of panic causing a Pandemic across a world of pandemonium we will trust in the one true God of Israel, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, Yeshua the Savior of the world.

Please note that all the above words prefixed with pan are derived from the pagan god of Pan.

On a recent trip to Israel I stood at what is known as the Gates of Hell where worshipers would sacrifice their children to the Greek god of Pan. It was at this location in Caesarea Philippi that Jesus declared “ I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

This was after He challenged Peter by asking him “Who do you say that I am?” to which Peter replied “You are the Christ the Son of the Living God”. He is challenging  you today with the same question

WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?

CHALLENGE: Choose this day whom you will serve. Will it be Pan, the god of panic or will it be the Lord the God of mercy and peace even during tribulation?

Deuteronomy 4:29- 31 “But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; For the Lord thy God is a merciful God; he will not forsake thee.”

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

LET NOT YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED

Believers, do not fear as the world does over this pandemic for He has promised “I will never leave you nor forsake you”

To build your faith I want to remind you that although plagues fell on Egypt the Hebrew children were protected who lived in an area known as Goshen.

Even during the plague of darkness when the Egyptians couldn’t even see each other there was still light in the land of Goshen!!! The Hebrews were protected even though they lived in Egypt just as we live in this world but we are not of this world.

He is still able to protect his children in the midst of a world in dark crisis.

May these few points help bring you peace:

1. OUR LIVES ARE HID IN HIM

Do not neglect a time to invest in our root structure in the True Vine as we spend time alone in His Presence where He will feed our faith.

2. DO NOT BE STRESSED

Stay positive

Phil.4:6 In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God

3. HOLD ONTO HOPE WHILE STILL BEING REALISTIC

John 16:37 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

4. DO ALL YOU CAN TO PROTECT YOURSELF

Take care of yourself or you will have nowhere to live!

Sanitize, keep active, eat healthy, get enough sleep.

1Cor.6:19-20 Know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own; for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.

5. THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH

Phil.4:4-5 Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice. Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

CHALLENGE: Saints stay encouraged for we are MORE than conquerors through Him.

Feed your faith on His Word for “God is not a man, that he should lie;” Numbers 23:19

Romans 8:37-39 In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

May we all use this opportunity to be a light in a dark world at this time. Walk with the King and be a blessing!

Develop a Lasting Love in your Marriage

As we celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary on July 18th this year

we rejoice at God’s blessing and grace on our years together.

1964 AGAPE, PHILEO AND EROS LOVE led us to 2016

We are brother and sister in the Lord, we are best friends and we are lovers.

Screen Shot 2016-07-13 at 10.52.33 PM

In the Greek language AGAPE – PHILEO – EROS –  are all words for love, yet each displaying a different character of love.

AGAPE – Displays the character of God for God is love. It’s the love that cannot be earned, an unconditional love with acceptance and  forgiveness.

Agape love is displayed in a marital union of two good forgivers who learn to seek forgiveness and offer forgiveness, accepting the shortcomings in each other. As both spouses move towards God they are also moving closer to each other as His character is formed in them.

It is available to us through the power of the Holy Spirit.

It is the power of being like-spirited as we pray together, minister together and serve one and other.

PHILEO – Displays the character of friendship. Unlike agape love phileo love has to be earned as it involves trust. It is earned as we learn to trust one another through communicating from the depths of our hearts. Trusting our spouses with our deep wounds, our aspirations, passions and dreams. Never leave your heart unspoken for it displays your heart to your spouse.

Your spouse should be your most trusted and best friend. A relationship where you laugh together, cry together, play together and support  each other’ dreams.

It has been said that “It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.”. Friedrich Nietzsche

It is the power of being like-minded as you have fun together sharing and supporting each others’ hobbies, passions and dreams.

EROS –   Displays the character of romantic and sexual love. Eros love is like a phileo friendship love caught on fire. Keep the fire lit in your marriage and your life will be filled with warmth.

“A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.”  ~Mignon McLaughlin

The Eros love is the only love that makes your marriage different and unique than any other relationship, that is why it is so important to keep romance alive. Light the candles, turn on the music and keep that flame burning brightly.

It is the power of physical attraction and the consummation of body, soul and spirit.

“To keep the fire burning brightly there’s one easy rule:  Keep the two logs together, near enough to keep each other warm and far enough apart – about a finger’s breadth – for breathing room.  Good fire, good marriage, same rule.”  ~Marnie Reed Crowell

A  successful marriage needs all three “loves” to hold it together. As we love God with our body, soul and spirit, likewise we need to love our spouses with our body, soul and spirit. Now we’re talking unity!  In fact the unity in our marriage is a witness to the world of the mystical union of Christ and His church according to Ephesians 5:23

CHALLENGE: “A marriage is not a noun. It isn’t something you are. It is a verb. It’s the way you love your partner everyday with AGAPE, PHILEO and EROS love.

Celebrating the Orange Twelfth of July in the Braveheart Highland Pub in Hellertown Pa.

Remembering the great victory of Protestant Prince William of Orange over Catholic King James in 1690 at the Boyne.

Happy Twelfth of July to all my exile fellow Ulster Scots throughout the world and my family in Belfast.

Miss being with you all and the sounds of the Flute and Pipe Bands parading up Royal Avenue participating in one of the largest parades in the world.

Never take for granted the freedom of your faith. It is part of your heritage but was handed down to you at great price! No surrender!

Deeper Insight Into Palm Sunday

As we celebrate this coming Palm Sunday, as Jewish congregations prepare to celebrate Passover, may the Old Testament types add to the dimension of our faith and understanding of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

Having just returned from Jerusalem I stood in awe at the Eastern Gate knowing this was the very gate that Jesus entered on Palm Sunday

Consider for a moment that on that same day thousands of lambs were also being ushered into Jerusalem through that same Eastern gate, as it was the gate closest to the Outer Court of the temple where they would offered. But I wonder how many who were enthusiastically waving palms, saw with spiritual eyes the Lamb of God, who would take away the sin of the world, among all the other lambs.

These lambs were being brought into Jerusalem five days prior to Passover, to be examined by the priests. They were to be examined for blemishes or disfigurement, as only perfect lambs were found worthy to be sacrificed for the sins of the people.

It is interesting to note that the priest did not examine the sinner who brought the sacrifice, rather the priest looked to see if the sacrificial substitute was worthy.

Likewise Our Lamb was brought into the city five days prior to Passover, to also be examined. He was brought before Pontius Pilate, Herod, Annas and Ciaphas, the high priests, and the ultimate judgement was made by Pilate when he declared, “I find no fault in Him.” Praise God for our Lamb who was found worthy to be sacrificed for our sins.

As we worship this coming Sunday let us with a loud voice declare with the heavens

“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain!” Rev. 5:12
