Preparing for the trip and experiences of a lifetime to Israel on Saturday, November 5th. As a student and teacher of typology from the Old Testament I am so excited and looking forward to being with the Director of the Jerusalem Center of Biblical Studies and Research, Shlomo Hizak for 12 days. As Saint Augustine has said “The New is in the Old concealed, and the Old is in the New revealed”.

So appreciating the opportunity to share, see where Jesus walked and be baptized in the River Jordan.

I also look forward to meeting again my new friend Robert Ilatiov, who is a member of Knesset Government in Israel, and serves as Chairman of Israel Beitenu Faction and the Israeli Hi-tech Caucus. When I was introduced to Robert at a conference last year we shared and compared our experiences both in Israel and Northern Ireland living with terrorism. Robert said he would arrange to take me to the parliament in Jerusalem. How exciting is that!

I always finish my correspondence with “Walk with the King and be a blessing” and soon “I’ll be walking with the King where He walked”

Covet your prayers for traveling mercies and safety while in Israel!

Going the Extra Mile

screen-shot-2016-10-28-at-11-21-02-pm

Going that extra mile on the elliptical at my cardiac rehab today challenged me to keep a promise to myself and gave me confidence in my own integrity. It challenged me to go beyond my comfort zone. My personal trainer had asked 20 minutes of me but I had promised myself during the week to go the extra mile by 10 minutes every day until today when I did 40 minutes.
It has aided me in the mastery of the destructive habit of procrastination. It has developed definiteness of purpose, insuring me against the common habit of aimlessness. It wasn’t just to strengthen my muscles but it gave me more self-reliance, greater initiative, more enthusiasm, more vision and definiteness of purpose. It is leading to mental growth as well as to physical skill.

What a thought that came originally from the greatest personal Trainer of all in Matthew 5:41
“And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.”

Celebrating Christmas in October ?

Screen Shot 2015-09-26 at 8.26.15 AM

I know in a few months we will be hectically preparing in our communities, homes and families around the world to celebrate the fact that a Savior was born to us. Don’t get me wrong I am glad that the world at least sets aside a day each year to recognize the coming of our Savior, even if it is only for “filthy lucre”, for it gives us an opportunity to share and spread the joy that He was willing to leave heaven, empty Himself to become Emmanuel, God with us. As Christmas Carols are echoing throughout malls and stores, even perhaps for the wrong reason, I am pleased to hear the gospel being preached through the words of those carols.

But at this October harvest season of the Jewish holy feast of Tabernacles, as believers, let us celebrate His birth in our hearts where He is now tabernacled by faith, as we meditate on John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and was tabernacled among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

All important events of God’s plan of redemption occurred on a Jewish feast day.

During the Jewish Feast of Passover He was slain for us as the Lamb of God

During the Jewish Feast of First Fruits He rose again as the first fruits of those that slept.

During the Jewish Feast of Pentecost He sent the Holy Spirit.

You may ask, “Is the date really that important?

The accuracy of the details in God’s prophetic plan of redemption for the world through His people Israel is not only important but also amazing!

So surely the most important event of all, the birth of the Jewish Messiah, would not be fulfilled on a Gentile holiday but rather fulfilled on a Jewish Feast day, the Feast of Tabernacles, which inspired the apostle John to write“ and He was tabernacled among us”. During this feast Jewish believers dwell in booths representing temporary dwelling places. So isn’t it interesting that the long awaited Jewish Messiah was born in a temporary dwelling place in a stable during the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles.

The ultimate fulfillment of this great feast will be according to Revelation 21:3-4 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:for the former things are passed away.

CHALLENGE: This week celebrate and rejoice during “Sukkot” as you meditate on the detailed accuracy of God’s plan of redemption while still sharing during the December Christmas season with neighbors, family and friends the joy that a Savior was born and the hope of HIs second advent.

Are You Drying Up And Thirsty?

IMG_1458

I always try to be aware of windows to my soul in my everyday life. Every time I have driven up to my favorite Chick-Fil-a I have noticed lately the scarcity of petunias blooms on one side of the parking lot while on the other side there is a huge colorful abundance of petunias! What a contrast between the very same petunias that were planted in the spring. Whatever caused that vast difference I would often ponder? Perhaps a lack of water? They were both planted at the same time in the same soil with the same amount of sunshine.

Wow! What a picture of a dry thirsty soul trying to survive spiritually without the watering of the Word. Have you ever felt that you had been planted in the True Vine but when the heat of trials dried up your roots you just wilted with your life bearing sparse beauty for the Kingdom? I know I’ve been there. I write about that experience and my victory in my book “DEVELOPING A SECRET HISTORY WITH GOD”.

That sparse photo is a picture of my spiritual life a few years ago when deep emotional wounds and serious illnesses almost took me out BUT after publishing my story of victory over those battles, God has taken me in the last few years to London, France, Italy, Russia and India to bloom abundantly again for His Kingdom.

May my story encourage your life to bloom abundantly in the garden of your destiny!

John 7:37 If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

John 6:63 The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
